Coloured front sight?

I have been doing more dry firing just recently against a blank wall (10m pistol). The purpose being to ensure that I am focusing solely on the front sight and it's alignment within the notch of the rear sight.

However, I do find that the "bull" still captures my focus as I lower the pistol into firing position when I return to the range for live firing.

This afternoon I had an idea that if I make the front sight a more "attractive" colour (say fluorescent pink!) then my focus may remain fixed on the front sight rather than switching to the Bull.

I've taken a look at the rules:

8.4.1.3 Sights
a) Only open sights are allowed. Optical, mirror, telescope, laser-beam, electronically projected dot sights etc., are prohibited;

In my mind a painted sight wouldn't breach any of the above.

Ignoring the fact that a painted sight may be no better than a black one (or may still appear black in the sight picture anyhow!), can anyone see a conflict with the rule book?

Cheers

No problem with a coloured front sight.

Very many have tried it; very few still use it.

I use a white front sight. Better for my focus. Otherwise my focus hunts forwards / backwards

If a colored front sight helps, whether visually or psychologically, don't hesitate to use one. I know David wasn't suggesting that you follow the herd.
