What would be the most common trigger setup for the ORF event.....single stage rolling trigger, or two stage as commonly used in precision shooting ?

Even an opinion would be helpful.

All I know is that you cannot have a perfect trigger for both Rapidfire and
Sport/Standard.
Sport/Standard requires a precission style, two stage with a letoff to suit
your style and feel. ie crisp or slight rolloff.
Rapidfire needs a short stroked smooth single stage trigger with a positive
reliable reset, again with letoff to suit your own feel.

Thank you David. Even though this has also been my understanding I have never set up a semi automatic pistol with a single stage trigger for Rapid Fire.
It seems that there may be several ways to do this however I am sure only one will be correct.

Would it be better to back off the first stage weight completely and reduce the travel of first stage relying on gaining 1000 gms from second stage weight, or alternatively simply reduce first stage travel to a minimum ? Or perhaps another method.

A little more helpful advice would be appreciated.

I think it will depend on which pistol you are trying to do it too.
Some pistols to get the weight you will need to combine both
first and second stage so they both act or you may need to change
springs.
Other pistols you can use first stage only and increased sear travel.

Thanks again. I went for the option of shortening the first stage travel to a minimum, then making sure the transfer bar had the right tolerance.
The result is that I now have a single stage trigger of 1000 grams that feels very controllable.
