Is there any difference between the two? I only plan to shoot Standard Pistol, hence the target is always at 25. What is the disadvantage? I barely have time to do the 10 seconds rapid fire stage, hence I wonder if the Rapid Fire version will help..but will that advantage has to come with less accuracy with the precision stage? Also is the rapid fire version has a one stage trigger?

Hasn't Rover told you many times about trying to buy points?

Then learn to shoot it properly.

I haven't shot either very much; but in my head it seemed the SP-RF seemed to flip in a more controllable and predictable manner? Probably due to more weight in the front, and the quick cyclical rate?

To be crude, and a bit brutally honest: In my view until you're shooting 530-550 it won't help much over a regular SP in Standard Pistol.

Its not about buying points. It is about I realized that my pistol is technically illegal for STP after the competition. My old hammerli 205 has a compensator, and that is illegal under ISSF rules on STP. The compensator cannot be taken off the muzzle. If I were at a larger competition which officials will check the equipment carefully, my pistol will be automatically fail the inspection.
Plus I need horizontal adjustment on my rear sight. The 205 does not have this option.
Hence I need to get a used pistol within my budget. Pardini or Hammerli 208. I came upon a used pardini SP that I can afford, but it is the rapid fire version. I don't want to pay over $2k for a pistol, and certainly do not need to buy a new one.

Hence the question of whether a SP rapid fire version is ok for STP.

Dear Conrandin:

about a year and a half ago, I was pestering Pardini USA with questions concerning the bullseye model, sp new, Rapid fire, and electronic trigger models. I need to compliment Emil at pardini for his patience from my relentless questions and his assistance in selecting the bullseye model.

Basically, the Rapid Fire version has a lighter weight bolt for faster cycling for European shooting. Technically, a heavier bolt will be more accurate but individual pistols will vary such that it is almost impossible to verify "in the wild". Also theoretically, a heavier bolt will buffer the recoil action and minimize required maintenance and/or extend the lifespan of the pistol. Again, these are purely theoretical.

I have the bullseye edition of the pistol and have never shot a rapid fire version such that I do not know what the actual difference is in performance or feel.

It is not able legal in terms of the rules. The question was whether a SP rapid fire pistol is good enough for STP.

Are you just going to shoot Standard or will it be used for Sport and Rapid as well ?
For Std and Sport use a SP, for Std and Rapid use a Rapid. For all three take your pick.
One is better for slowfire the other for 4 sec, difference minimal to most shooters.
When you bust 570 in both events, buy two pistols.

Conradin, why don't you get off the flabby buns and shoot with these guys! They're plenty close and .22 and Air Pistol abound. You might actually learn something.

I hope you mean STP. I think if we use a bullet that was shot from a Pardini, maybe we can wipe out STD in the human race..:)
