Hi all,

I have regrettably been forced to give up coffee as I've become, for no reason known to me, hypersensitive to the caffeine. And I do mean HYPER; 8 oz of french pressed Guatemalan can leave me jittery for many hours. The only consolation is that I'm currently putting more holes through the center ring than ever before!

I happened to read the following quote in a recent thread

"So, cardio, cardio, cardio, And also, get the caffeine, the sugar and most of the bread and potatoes out of your diet".

I eat a fairly healthy diet, very healthy compared to the "average" American diet without being a fanatic. I wondered what effect carbohydrates could have on my hold? I'm aware of the glycemic index/blood sugar link but hadn't really thought about it make me less stable. Are my sister in law's garlic mashed potatoes costing me points?

Definitely.

On the team i help coaching we once filled one of the guys up with red bull and put him on the scatt before and after. Results were a lot worse then without all the sugar.

Eat a healthy diet and stick with it. I can't see how high carbs could affect anything apart from as you say the glucose spike, which is an acute (perfectly normal) response to sugar or carbs. Eating very close to a shoot is therefore not ideal, equally because more of you blood is diverted into your mesenteric system - around your digestive system.
