my 46m's rear sight elevation does not go high enough for me to use true sub-6, it will bottom out at 6, but not significant enough for true sub-6 (2-3 ring for me)

I had made a plastic rear sight with more rear sight elevation to solve the problem. But just did not like the aesthetic of it.

Any way to "force" original rear sight to any higher, any way to re-calibrate to a higher elevation setting?

if you are talking about 0.5-1 mm you could always shorten the front blade. if i remember correctly it can be done.
