Hammerli 203 trigger question

After receiving user and workshop manuals, I am a little bit confused about one of the options that you can change on the 203. Apparently trigger weight is set, cannot be change, but trigger pull distance can be changed
I only shoot AP and FP. The latter my trigger weight is so light that trigger pull distance does not come into play at all (there is no trigger pull, only trigger touch).
Since I want to take STP seriously, I want to know what is the recommendation when it comes to adjustment of the trigger. Or, should I simply go ahead and not do any changes and shoot the pistol the way I have received it.

What do you want to change, and why?

It's got nothing to do with it being a semi-automatic.

It's the same as any trigger: would you change anything without knowing why you want to change it.

I understand your question to make me thing...but my question is how do I know if the trigger travel suits me since my pistol is obvious a second hand.

Should I keep experiment with it? Is there a way to feel you have the correct travel for the trigger pull?

I shoot like Skanaker when doing FP.

If you think the trigger travel is too long for the way YOU like it then shorten it (if you can).

It's all personal preference. Some people like a crisp trigger, others like a rolling trigger. Some like a long pull, others like a short pull.

It's a personal preference thing... Some like it with a lot of travel, others as short as it can be, and probably the best is somewhere in between.

The only time the trigger pull will come into play in standard pistol is in the 10 second part, because of the more rapid firing mode in comparison with the rest of the match. Set your trigger so that it has a little travel on the first stage, so that you can feel the second stage kicking in, and a very short second stage, almost none. As to the weight, a 50-50 distribution on first and second stage in a good place to start.

Remember that the most important thing in setting the trigger is to make sure that it has at least the 1000 grams required by the rules, otherwise you will get disqualified if they test your gun after the match.

I set mine somewhere in the 1050 to 1100 gram range, and it doesn't make it any difficult to shoot.

Hope this helps
