Backing targets for 25m events

Can anyone tell me if backing targets are still required for the 25m events (on paper targets) under the latest version of the ISSF rules.

I have had quite a good look through the latest version of the rules (well a good look by my standards, which isn't that good according to my wife), and I can only find references to backing targets under the EST (electronic targets) sections.

Any help (Spencer and David) please.

While the rules now deal mainly with EST, there are still references to 25m paper target procedures involving backing targets for paper targets: e.g. 6.9.11, 6.14.13.4, 6.14.13.4.

Thanks spencer. I had seen those, but they just relate to range staff duties.

What I was hoping to find is the one that actually says you need to have backing targets for paper target scoring.

Trying to dig into the memory banks and remember the last time I shot a 25m event on paper targets - what is the purpose? Solely for cross-fires on STD, CF, and WSP?

Were they ever required for RFP on paper targets? (Oh, maybe for late shots?)

Yes - 6.3.4.2.2, 2009 rules - 'continuous' for all 25m events
(and shots between the targets for all the 25m events)
