We are all talking about the newly issued book : The Olympic Pistol , during the shopping of this book , I came to the older book : The Psyche of the Shot , I would appreciate inputs on this book , many thank.

This book is very well written by respected and hugely experienced specialists.
It is quite an easy read compared to some of the specialist books that I have seen.
The content and comparisons between different precision shooting disciplines and golf help to maintain your interest throughout.
I have just finished reading the book for the first time and will then go back to re-read it, to hopefully absorb more of the fascinating information that is contained within.
Whether or not I can put some of it into practice will remain to be seen.

I liked the most the underlining message: “Ninety per cent of all so called psychological problems stem from inadequate ability to properly execute a decent shoot! Once the technical skill is mastered in full it is much easier to cope with the competition pressure.”
Indeed, the fear that we can make an error when we really don’t want to seems to exert quite a heavy toll on our nervous system, which can be alleviate to a high degree with well-grounded self-confidence.
When I tried to implement this the SCATT told me how bad the last second and 1/10 of second are…

My comments are similar to antispar.
I have recently bought both books - quickly looked through them, and am now going through them carefully. I am an experienced, middle level, older shooter, shooting ISSF. I have taken a break from range shooting for the past 6 weeks, and have concentrated on using my SCATT for AP and SP. Together with what I have been gleaning from these books, I have an observable improvement in hold and trigger control. Will be interesting to see how this relates to life fire!! Contrary to comments on a similar topic, I believe any shooter who reads these books diligently and analyses the information as it relates to THEM will have a new understanding of the many and varied processes involved in achieving the perfect shot.
Keep at it, and above all - enjoy your shooting!!

Very interesting and creative way of writing the contents. Unfortunately, not yet finished reading it all but surely I will get satisfied.

I've had mine from the day it was available, I've read it many times and I return to it regularly. When watching shooters I can see the examples jumping out, its a quite different shooting book and is a useful tool in taking performance to the highest level.

Where did you find these books? I searched on Amazon in the US and UK and they don't come up in the search. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
