Hi Greg,

I am new to bullseye shooting, never compete before and wish to compete in this match. I really appreciated if you can answer some of my questions. How many rounds of 22 lr and 45 acp do i need to bring to the match? I will use my Les Baer wadcutter for centerfire and 45 course. Do they allow us to take warm up shots? Do I need to register a few days before the match?

Thanks
Ryan

You'll need at least 90 rounds of .22, and 90 rounds of .45. Almost everyone will bring an additional 40 rounds of each in case of an alibi. (Alibis are when, for example, your gun jams. You get to fire again.)

You don't get any warm up shots. If you can sight your gun in at 50 yards, great, if you can't, sight in at 25 yards and you can add a few clicks of elevation when you get to the 50 yard line.

You don't need to register, just show up.

When you get there, seek me out. I'll make sure you shoot next to me so I can walk you through the match. There will be a dozen other folks willing to help you do the same.

There is no such thing as embarrassment in Bullseye. In my opinion, it's the most difficult of all shooting disciplines except for Free Pistol. You'll do just fine!!! Plus, you'll be hooked for life on competition.

Can you please tell me how to get there. Is it inside the camp and all I need is to ask the guard at the gate for direction? Is it safe to bring firearms inside the camp? LG

Take I-5 to the Camp Pendleton Main Gate exit. Once you get to the gate, tell the guard you are going to the Bullseye Match at Range 102. Have your driver license and registration for your vehicle handy. Ask how to get to Range 102....it's only a couple of turns, but it's about 5 miles.

It's okay to bring firearms on the base.

If you get jammed up, call me, 949-280-7092.

SAFE? The place is crawling with thousands of Marines; every single one of them has at least one gun.

Greg, I'm also interested in shooting this match.

Is it normal to not have sighting in shots?
How many matches are coming up?
About how long are they?
Do they usually start early in the morning?

No sighting shots in any BE match that I'm aware of. However, SF gives you plenty of shots to get it right:)

It looks like an 1800 every month. They should last about 4 hours is my best estimate, maybe a bit less if run crisply. This one starts at 0700.

I was told that it is going to be Center Fire only. Please confirm.

It's an 1800. So, .22 for the first 900, and your CF choice the second 900, .32 and above.
