If an Ultradot-equipped pistol is not going to be used for an indefinite
period of time, is it safe to leave the battery in it? If not removed, is one
risking trouble (damage to the sight from a leaking battery?). Please
comment, thanks.

Mine stay in all the time. Some get used a lot, some not so much. Haven't notices anything attributable to damage in that manner.
I replace all the batteries at the beginning of the season whether I think they need it or not.

The good thing about taking it out, is at least you won't leave it on.:-)

No problem leaving it in, just shut it off after use. The On off mechanism is an excellent off/on switch, removing is always a good method to prevent batteries from leaking and destroying the battery "box" in case of long term storage. "Doc"

Every ultradot I bought, came with the batteries installed.
Of course taking them out is a safe way to go.

Ive never seen a 2032 lith battery leak, but if you dont plan on using it for a long time take it out.
