What, exactly, is Green Gas?

Green Gas is the propellant of choice for "AirSoft" guns. It's mostly propane. While I'm no expert in the subject, I would guess that using it in anything not specifically designed for it (for example, using it as a propellant for a match grade air rifle), would qualify as a bad idea.

compressed air or dry nitrogen
Compressed air is filled from a source tank (SCUBA tank) or a high pressure compressor.
Nitrogen would be filled from a source tank via a regulator.
