Is it really? Why?

I'm this close to "pulling the trigger" on one system or the other, so I want to hear it from Noptel users why they chose it over a SCATT (or whatever else).

I've read all the threads here and a bunch on the subject at other places, and still can't decide.

I did not want to run a cable through the garage that I use as a range. The noptel is very, very easy to plug in and set up. I really like that. I bought mine slightly used so the price was just a bit more than a new scatt. At that price it was certainly worth it. To confess I don't know how to interpret the data yet, so I can't comment on the software. The hardware is very good, and the software is easy to use. I don't think scatt or noptel have a good explanation or training game plan to use the traces. I would put a wanted to buy request on the trading board for the noptel.

I stand to be corrected, but I imagine that the Noptel would be easier to get serviced than the Scatt should anything go wrong.

I have no idea is the simple answer but I'd personally favour the scatt. Scatt is easy to set up, the sensor is extremely light (more of an issue for pistol), and the data are easy to get and review. The user manual is next to useless but there are a lot of experienced users now, so interpretation is more straightforward once you get a crib sheet.

As for servicing - none is required. But for all systems you'd go back to the seller / national importer with problems, but these things are pretty robust (unless you shoot or otherwise break them).

Without going into exhaustive descriptions of each system; these can easily be found using the "Search" function; here are what I perceive as their strengths:

SCATT This system has the largest user base and probably the easiest for which to find advice and assistance about using and interpreting it successfully.

Noptel No cables up the range and no power supply required, it operates directly from a laptop. If you feel you need to live fire on the trainer then Noptel is definitely the best option.

Apart from that, they both do what it says on the tin (or CD).

You can easily live fire on the scatt. Mine is almost only used for live fire (air), but for prone I've only used it dry fire.
