Hello

I am interested in a Colt 1911 John Giles rear dovetail sight.
It was refereed to at times as the "Wagon Wheel" rear sight.
He was a renown gunsmith in the 60ies thru the 80ies. who made his own sights and full ribs. Bo-mar copied his full length rib.

If anyone has one for sale, or is aware of one please let me know with a PM.

Wow, that might be a tough one. I don't know if John made over a thousand guns. Of the 30 or so I have seen only one was hacked up. They tried to make a concealed carry weapon out of it. Good luck with your search.

According to Giles son: Giles made 200 guns a year for 30 years that makes 6000 Giles custom guns made.
Yes, it's hard to believe but this is from his biography that his son wrote.

So there must be one (rear sight) out there for me. Thinking positive.
I attempted to post the biography but had problems, I though that it could be interesting reading for some people here.
