Shooting and fishing in Alaska
Headed to Alaska with one of the nations top shots to go fishing around the Kenai, Halibut out of Homer then we want to get some reds. This will be a week after camp Perry (end of july). Never fished the inland waters before, if you know what you r doing and would like to help a few fellow shooters out, You might get to pick his brain (its up to him) (trade shooting info for fishing info) If you dont know anything about fishing and just want to mooch a fresh halibut dinner(i know we will catch those) contact me and we can hook up.
I lived in SE Alaska for 12 years. Loved the fishing and hunting.
I took the wife up there many years later for a sentimental journey. We loved Homer, but did no halibut fishing. It's certainly the spot for it, though. Many charter operators there, so take your pick.
We stayed in the hotel at the end of Homer spit and had a few drinks on the patio. Fabulous views of the water, mountains, and boats.
We went down to Seward and took a half day charter for silvers and we both limited out. We had them smoked and shipped to us. Lox, onion, capers, tomato, & bagels...mmmm!
Your greatest concern about fishing in Alaska should be the beer selection.

Alaska
The fishing is all paid for due to my business, Otherwise i wouldnt be going(should bring home $2000 in fish so I actually profit from the trip) We have a goog guide Ive used many times but he only does the ocean. Beer in Alaska more beer than icecream and Alaska is the #1 user of ice cream (per person ) also #1 in duct tape, Harleys , planes ,and pick up trucks. The end of the spit is to die for (best view Ive ever seen) Best cowder in the nation on the spit. A dollar with John Zureks name on it hanging on the wall of the bar (Rover knows that place I bet) Hoping to do this all in a rented motorhome this time but it all depends on who comes. That will keep us mobile and if we can find a shooter or two we might have a place to park and a stream to drop a line.
