2011 CMP Competition Rules Now Available, New Vintage Sniper Rifle Team Match Introduced - The 2011 15th edition of the CMP Competition Rules is now available. The CMP is the national governing body for Service Rifle, Service Pistol and CMP Games shooting events and the CMP Competition Rules is the official rulebook for these events that are a popular and important part of the national competi­tive shooting scene. recreation-oriented or national championship contenders, are invited to par­ticipate in the unique, national-level competitions at the Fifth Annual East­ern CMP Games & Creedmoor Cup Matches at Camp Butner, North Caro­lina from 7-15 May. The CMP Games Matches are ideal events for shoot­ers who have little previous competition experience but are looking for an opportunity to participate in a friendly, instructive and rewarding national competition event. Schadler and Mitchell Crowned Top Individual Shooters in 2011 Air Force JROTC Service Champi­onships - ANNISTON, ALABAMA – Cordelia Schadler, 15, of Battle Ground High School, Washington, won the 2011 Air Force JROTC precision air rifle service championship and Katelynn Mitchell, 17, of Western Hills High School, Texas, earned the gold medal in the sporter air rifle division here on 25-26 February.

New National Team Record Set In Jamestown, Califor­nia - The High Power match in Jamestown brought thirty-two competitors on a gorgeous day to form eight four person teams. Competitors came from Modesto, Turlock, Jamestown, Copperopolis, Groveland, Twain Harte, Sugar Pine, Soulsbyville, Waterford, Mi Wuk and Columbia. “Mother Lode Gun Club Gold” was the winning team shooting their way to a new National Record. Soldier has London in his sights - By Michael Molinaro, USAMU PAO - FORT BENNING, Ga. - A dream that began in 2000 is closer to be­coming reality for a Soldier from the U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit. Staff Sgt. Josh Richmond won a bronze medal in Men’s Double Trap at the 2011 Chile World Cup March 3 and with the points he earned in the match, he exceeded the threshold required to be nominated to the U.S. Olympic team for the 2012 Summer Olympic Games in London. 2011 Camp Counselor Announcement. The Civilian Marks­manship Program (CMP) is seeking qualified individuals to fill counselor positions for its Three-Position Air Rifle Summer Camps. This premier pro­gram has a long established history of providing the highest quality air rifle instruction in the country for high school athletes. Camp Counselor posi­tions are open to college students who have completed at least one year of college and are members of an NCAA or college club rifle team. Applicants must be available to work and travel from 24 May through 29 July 2011. These are highly competitive positions. Selection will be based on aca­demic performance, shooting experience, coaching experience, youth lead­ership experience and references. Applications must be received by 18 March 2011. Air Rifle and Air Pistol Marksmanship Competitions - Camp Perry, Ohio and Anniston, Alabama. The Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP) invites you and your club rifle team to par­ticipate in the CMP’s Monthly Matches. The matches will take place on the above dates at the CMP’s Marksmanship Centers North and South. The competitions will feature a Junior Air Rifle 3x20, 60 Shots Air Rifle Stand­ing, 60 Shots Air Pistol, a 20 shot Novice Prone stage a National Match Air Rifle 20 Shot Standing, Garand Course and 3x20 events. 2011 CMP Eastern NMAR Competition, King George High School, Virginia, 30 April & 1 May, 2011. The CMP is contacting Adult and Junior Highpower shooters in Virginia and surrounding states, and all those interested in visiting Virginia, to introduce a new series of National Match Air Rifle matches that will take place at King George High School, on 30 April & 1 May, 2011. The program is designed for both ex­perienced highpower rifle shooters and new and inexperienced shooters.
