Gehmann Air Pistol
I have a friend who is very much into air pistol competitions. He currently shoots with a Steyr LP 10, he also has a Gehmann GP-1

He tells me this pistol is very close to the quality and feel of his Steyr. He lives far from me and can't try the pistol myself. I would like to know if anyone here has this pistol and what they think of it.
I am a beginner and trying to get into the sport myself.
Thank all.

The Gehmann GP1 is essentially a Matchguns MG1 Mechanical with different trigger blade, no weight system (it is extra) and comes with one cylinder. I have handled an MG1 and it has a very good trigger and sights so i expect gp1 to be as good as mg1. Also it has a very good grip that has more rake than LP10 (i own one). It doesnt have an absorber and that means a muzzle flip. Lately Matchguns MG1E (the electronic trigger variant) can be found for about 1000 euros (at least in germany shops) which makes it in my eyes a better deal than gp1 (which is around 770) as it comes with 2 cylinders the weight system and a bigger case
Dollars to donuts it's a re-branded Match Guns MG1. I bought one from the late Don Nygord, had it for a short time, liked it a lot but ended up selling it to a friend (yes, we're still friends).
Here's the link to it in original form.

If I had my 'druthers I would choose the current Morini 162E.. I have owned one, foolishly sold it, and am currently shooting an LP10. I have considered selling the LP10 and purchasing a new 162E with the profits---though the ability to adjust the grips to suit on the LP10 is what has kept me faithful as one can do absolutely nothing with the grips nor trigger on the Morini. I am repelled away from the MG brand due to my early experiences with the MG2, but I would imagine the MG1E might be a great gun. As far as the Gehmann is concerned I don't know USA costs but the Morini 162E is still a "bargain" price from USA distributors, getting your grip choice may be a crap shoot. JMHO "Doc"

Bob, did you hit the wrong key; or is there a Morini 163?
The MG1 has a full range of grip to frame adjustability; and I have to say - given that grips are absolutely the most subjective part of pistol preferences - to my mind (hand?) Cesare really perfected grip design after he departed from the company that bears his name.

There is 162E titanium. a version of the 162ei that has some internal changes that i saw it is discussed in french forums.
walter lapyere changed from 162e to lp10e and then back to 162e titanium.

Re: Gehmann Air Pistol
I have just looked on the Gehmann website and the New Gehmann air pistol is from what i can see a rebadged MG1, i shoot a MGH1 and all the sales words readjustments ectara are the same as the MG1 /MGH1. It will be interesting to see how long it is before Gehmann are offering the equivalent MGH1. Have Match Guns and Gehmann amalgamated?
Re: Gehmann Air Pistol
Gehman has a long history of offering products manufactured by others under their name. Other outfits have done the same. The Anschutz LP@ is a lightly modified Steyr LP10, for example. It has a different trigger shoe, no barrel shroud, but a different weight system. The grip, rear sight & action are 100% LP10.
