Can you have one pistol for all events? What are the differences?

They all have the same specifications under the ISSF rules (assuming that by "Sport Pistol" you are referring to what the ISSF call the "25m Pistol" event).

It therefore follows that the same pistol can be used in all events, although some specific design variations within the rules may be more applicable to one event than another.

It should be noted however that, under strict ISSF rules, only Junior Men will have the opportunity to shoot all three events. Women do not shoot Rapid Fire Pistol and senior men do not shoot the 25m Pistol event.

I am rather close to being a senior, lol. I just want to know in case I start to compete, that I can do so with one pistol.

as David states, all must meet the requirements for ISSF 25m rimfire pistols, however:
- pistols for RFP tend towards both low bore-line and nose-heaviness
- pistols for 25m Womens/Junior need neither as there is no subsequent shot in a short time frame and nose-heaviness can get tiring in Precision Stages
- pistols for Std fall somewhere between but the RFP pistols are eminently suitable for Std.

can you use one pistol for all three events - yes, and many do, but it is a trade-off.

Go to http://toz35.blogspot.com, go back about 3 pages. There's a lot of info on what the top shooters are using. You can get away with one gun. The Pardini is especially popular.
