I'm interested in what grip angles people find work for them, as I'm looking seriously at designing a target pistol.
Listed are some existing pistols and their grip angles, in case you have a favourite pistol and don't know the angle.

Please pick whatever is closest to the angle you prefer for ISSF Standard or Centrefire shooting (list rapid fire separately if you like)
I will put a similar poll in the Bullseye section for comparison between Bullseye and ISSF.

(The angle I've chosen for reference is the frontstrap, we can argue forever about what is the 'real' angle and whether I've measured it right or not)

The grip angle you put on a grip or pistol will depend on what you are designing the pistol to do and the calibre/power factor you intend to run.
ie you would not design a airpistol with a 1911 grip angle, nor would you have a .357mag with a ISSF raked grip.

I'm interested in ISSF Standard or Centrefire, say with a .32 max.
Rapid Fire is excluded at this point.

You do realize that the Walther SSP has a more acute angle than the GSP right?

Slightly, and it feels steeper because the SSP trigger is relatively low.

I dont think it is a slight difference.
It is 5 degrees with the SSP grip at its most vertical (according to Rink)
and there is alot of adjustment for a greater angle.

OK, going on the Walther pics they're pretty close, within 2 degrees, based on the frontstrap of the original Walther grip, not an aftermarket grip.

Even if it is only 2 degrees, you are listing other pistols with 2 degree difference.
And the SSP grip in the photo is at its most forward point. There is alot rearward adjustment.
Nobody who has shot both pistols would consider them as the same answer to the poll.
Still, its your poll...
