SETTING UP A SCOPE

Maybe someone can help. I bought a Benjamin Nitro 22 pellet rifle with scope. They don't give too much info of setting and adjusting the scope. I guess you must use the fast adjust eyepiece to focus the target and cross hair to your eye. Than set how far you are from the target maybe a guess (30 feet)?? Than set magnification. They mention moving your eye in the scope and they say the cross hairs should stay on the target. Any help would be great. Thanks Ron
