I have some question about 3P air rifle

I have a friend's child who recently shot 3P in the "Sporter" class at Camp Perry a few months ago. I guess that I have a few questions about this (my son shoots smallbore so this is kind of different for me)

1) What is the Sporter class?

2) How many different classes are there? (Please keep in mind that my son is 13 years old and the friends daughter is 14).

3) Is there clothing limitations for Sporter class?

4) Is the Sporter class a good intro class?
