I was just told my 300S is not a universal.
I thought the universal had the rail underneath and the regular 300 had full wood underneath the forearm.
Is the universal the one with the rail underneath and the adjustable cheekpiece?

Hi guys
The FWB 300-S Universal had two different height cheek pieces supplied when new. They also supplied a back sight raiser block and higher fore sight to be used when the higher cheek piece was used.
Both the early and late Universals had a rail underneath.
Early Universals had a stippled under side for about half way along with a contoured fore end.
Later Universals had a straight stock fore end with the under side stippling going much further along the fore end.
Both the 300-S and 300-SU had a rail. Looking at my old parts lists, it shows a rail on the early 300.
Hope this helps.

IT does and thanks-I changed my ad but may pull the gun and sell at a later date.
Just don't want to sell as the wrong model as that can cause nightmares down the line.
David F
thanks again

David
A picture of this air rifle would really seal it for me?
I worked part time for FWB UK many years ago when the 300-S was being used, so I should be able to tag this one if I saw it.

Nice gun, shame about the scope!
It's a 300-S.

the gun is sold and so is the scope and also my fwb model 80.
I did well.
the only other thing is the buyer and myself both are trying to tell if it is walnut or beech .for instance it looks light here but this pic is more closer to the color. the flash makes it look lighter.
David F I gave him three days to make up his mind but he will know as soon as he opens the box.

I think this is Walnut, but can't swear to it. I say this because most early FWB 300-S were Walnut. The junior versions were often Beech.
Sorry I can't be more specific.
