Hi folks,
one of our readers (VISIER gun magazine) is planning a one week's trip to Boston at the end of march and asked us for addresses of gun manufacturers, gun museums etc. to visit during his stay, and also for a recommandation, where he could shoot Trap/shotgun near Boston in that time.
Any help appreciated...

Wilkommen in Amerika (did I get that right?)!
Springfield is less than 2 hours' drive from Boston. The Springfield Armory Museum is a record of American military small arms dating back to the founding of the republic. Less than 2 hours beyond that, if you like really big guns, in Troy, NY, is the Watervliet Arsenal Museum with a marvelous display of European and American artillery from bronze muzzle loaders to the present. I could spend hours admiring the design and precision machining of breech mechanisms
Gun manufacturers include Smith & Wesson, Springfield, MA; Colt, Hartford, CT; Thompson Center (a division of S&W), Rochester, NH; SIGarms, Exeter, NH; Sturm-Ruger, Newport, NH. I have no idea which of the manufacturers allow visit or tours.
Woburn Sportsmen's Association in Bedford is a great club with a very active shotgun group.
For a little taste of home, Jacob Wirth on Stuart Street in Boston offers a selection of German dishes and an extensive beer selection.

Thanks very much, William, for that summary (and "Willkommen in Amerika" is excellent). I've forwarded the link to this thread to our reader, who is not registered here (yet...).
The difficulty for us foreigners is just to estimate the distances from A to B, and which other states in the neighborhood are "in reach" within the planned one-week-stay.
