On my Clarke 1911 when I look down the bore having cleaned it i see a clear round circular ring about half way down the bore.
Help....Is this normal.
Gun seems to shoot fine...

I'd say not.
Is there a bulge on the outside?

No, this indicates that a bullet at one time was stuck in the barrel and someone fired another behind it. That being said, if it doesn't cause any problems with function, accuracy or cleaning, forget about it.

Thanks...phew...I could just see the dollar flying out the window.
The action is still perfect even on light loads.

That ring can create a weak point in the barrel which I would be more worried about if you were not using target loads in the gun. High power loads or a double charge could cause the already weak point in the barrel to fracture but with target loads and no visble bulge in the barrel, this is exremely unlikely. Keep a short piece of dowel handy and if the trigger goes click rather than bang on any of your loads, make sure that when you eject the non fuctioning round that it comes out intact and not just the case. If you just get the shell casing you will probably need to tap out the bullet that is probably stuck somewhere in your barrel before you fire again. Don't ask me how I know this. :-) Isabel

Agree, if it shoots OK and doesn't lead up don't worry too much.
