What kind of cable does Scatt use between target and USB?

Post by Guest »

I'm curious if anyone has used an after-market cable to connect the Scatt target to the USB connector?

If so, what kind of cable did you use and how long was it? Does a traditional phone cable work?

Thanks

I didn't look real close, but when I saw the cable, it looked like good ol' CAT5 to me.

That's what I thought too, however I'm not sure if they are using a traditional 3 pair Cat5 cable. It appears to be a little thinner and is using a RJ11 connector with 2 pairs. Anyone know if this is a straight through pinout?

Thanks

It depends

It depends on what version of Scatt you have. If it is a black box it is a 4 wire phone cable. But not a telephone cable. You can use a phone cable but you must cut off one connector and replace it with another so that the wire colors are the same order left to right when the connectors are held same side up and side by side. I guess this is what you referred to as straight thru?

USB Scatts use a 6 conductor wire and 6 pin connectors with the same straight thru order.
