Playing around with .38 special, 140g SWC and Trailboss powder.
The object is to increase the case load density to near a full case and stop the velocity variation of powder at front or back of the case with small loads.
Loading for Aus Service match (120 power factor and 50 yds) I found some very good results with nearly a full case of powder.
A full case was 5.2g of the very bulky powder and I settled for 5.0g and a comfortable factor of 122-125. Shooting from a Manurhin revolver it groups sub 2" at 50 yds and it is clean and soft to shoot.
I had to modify the powder thrower to get good results and now have less than 50 fps extreme spread.
Now to play with the .32.....!!!!

I used to obtain aSD of less tha 10 fps using Bullseye and the Remington 148 gr. LHBWC. Similar results with WST and VV N-310.

The problem with Bullseye was the extra air space, if you tilted the round up (powder to the back of the case) and fired, then did one case down (powder to the front) you could get up to 55-60 fps difference on the chrono.
If you are loading for a competition power factor, it can mean the difference between pass or fail in the match.

I also had the same SD with Titegroup. Titegroup is advertised as being position insesitive.

I've been loading 2.8g under the 148g Star HBWC - I'm curious what you found to shoot good.
