2009 CMP Competition Rules - Rules for Service Pistol, Service Rifle, As-Issued Military Rifle - The annual release of the CMP Competition Rules usually coincides with the release of National Matches programs and the opening of Na­tional Matches on-line entries, which were posted on the CMP website on 1 April. The 13th edition 2009 CMP Competition Rules are also now posted on the CMP website and can be viewed and downloaded at http://www.odcmp.com/Competitions/Rulebook.pdf.

Registration Open for 2009 Eastern CMP Games and Creedmoor Cup Matches. The Official Program for the 3rd 2009 Eastern CMP Games and Creedmoor Cup Matches that will take place at Camp Butner, North Carolina on 2-10 May, is posted and available at http://www.odcmp.com/Competitions/EasternGames.htm. In addition to the traditional As-Issued Military Rifle Matches, this year’s CMP Games Matches offer M1 Carbine, Rimfire Sporter and Pistol EIC matches. Competitors who want to compete in either the CMP Games Matches or the Creedmoor Cup Matches can register for on-line at http://clubs.odcmp.com/cgi-bin/matchInf ... tchID=4147.



The 2009 CMP Junior Air Rifle Camp schedule and application forms are posted on the CMP website! The dates for the highly popu­lar summer camps were posted in early January and applications are coming in fast! 2009 camp openings remain at Albuquerque, NM (1-5 June); Fort Benning, GA (13-15 July, advanced); and Linn, MO (27-31 July). Five of the eight camps scheduled are now full so it is im­portant to submit your applications as soon as possible. 2009 Colorado State 3-P Air Rifle Championship. There will be a Colorado State 3-P Air Rifle Championship on May 9th at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado. This would be a great time to have your young shooters experience shooting on the same ranges as the Olympic Shooters. Virginia JROTC Marksmanship Instructor Course (JMIC) scheduled. SFC (Ret) Andrew J Babic, CMP Virginia State Jr. Director, will host JMIC (Junior Marksmanship Instructor Course) on May 30th at the American Legion Post 368 in Newport News, Virginia. Class is scheduled from 9AM until 5PM. The doors will open at 8AM. Registration is required and there is no cost for this course. CMP Announces Two New State Junior Directors for Geor­gia. The CMP would like to welcome two new State Junior Directors for the state of Georgia, Connie Cooper and Roy McClain. The mis­sion of the State Junior Directors is to provide leadership, resource and program information, coordination, networking, motivation and publicity for junior shooting within his or her state. Louisiana CMP State Junior Director to host Summer Camp. Mickey Brondum, CMP’s State Junior Director in Louisiana, will host a Air Gun and Smallbore Camp on June 8-12 at the South­west Gun Club Range in McComb, Mississippi. The camp is open to any junior or adult. The cost of the camp is $90.00. 2009 Eastern U.S. Junior Highpower Clinic and Champion­ship Enrollment Open - The Eastern U.S. Junior Highpower Clinic and Championship will take place on 20-26 June at Camp Butner, North Carolina. The Clinic and Championship offers a full week of clinics, coaching and competition for junior service rifle competitors. Juniors attending the clinic will have the opportunity to expand their current level of experience and expertise as well as build friendships and camaraderie with other shooters. The Civilian Marksmanship Program and the Junior Marksmanship Support Group organize this event in cooperation with the North Carolina National Guard, North Carolina Rifle and Pistol Association and the USMC Rifle Team.
