IZH35 how to clean bore?

All. I can take down this pistol to its component parts. It is relatively easy.

However, there is no easy way to put a cleaning rod into the breech of the pistol. Anybody have any suggestions for cleaning this pistol? The crown is really a beautiful sight, and I would loath to mar it by putting a rod through it.

I thought about using my Otis kit, but after reading postings around here I am reluctant to use a bronze brush.

Suggestions?

Thanks.

IZH-35 bore cleaning

I typically limit my bore cleaning with the .22's to ensure function (i.e. keep the chambers cleaned). I have used the Otis kit but found it difficult to get the looped brass tip with a patch to go through the small ejection port on my IZH-35. I have heard good things about the Patch Worm and I plan to get one soon.

I agree with Bill's recommendations. I use a bore brush bent 90 deg to clean the chamber, followed by some patches using a Patch Worm. Every 300-500 rounds I strip the gun and thoroughly clean the bolt and firing pin.
