Soldiers qualify for Wold Cup Final

U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit, Accessions Support Brigade
FORT BENNING, Ga. - Two Soldiers of the U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit are competing in the prestigious International Shooting Sport Federation World Cup Final. Rifle and pistol shooters will participate in the elite World Cup Finals Nov. 1 to 6 in Bangkok, Thailand. The ISSF only invites the top shooters in the world to compete in this exclusive match, which is the traditional closing competition of the international shooting season.
Three-time Olympian Sgt. 1st Class Daryl L. Szarenski and Sgt.
Michael D. McPhail, both of the USAMU, will compete in the World Cup Final. Also competing are 2008 Olympic Silver Medalist Matt Emmons in Men's Three Position, Prone and Air Rifle, 2008 Olympic Bronze Medalist Jason Turner in Men's Air Pistol, 2008 Olympian Jaime Beyerle and Morgan Hicks in Women's Three Position Sport Rifle and 2008 Olympian Emily Caruso in Women's Air Rifle.
McPhail won the Bronze Medal in Prone Rifle and Szarenski took the Bronze Medal in Free Pistol at the World Cup in Beijing, China, in April. They will be competing in the same matches at the World Cup Final. Two-time Olympian Sgt. 1st Class Thomas A. Tamas of the USAMU, who received the Silver Medal in Men's Prone Rifle at the Beijing World Cup, also qualified for the Prone Rifle competition but will not compete.
The schedule is as follows:
Nov. 1: Arrival of delegations.
Nov. 2: Official Training, equipment control, technical meetings and Opening Ceremony.
Nov. 3: Men's 50-Meter Prone Rifle Match and Finals, Women's 25-Meter Sport Pistol Match and Finals, Men's 50-Meter Free Pistol Match and Finals.
Nov. 4: Men's 25-Meter Rapid Fire Pistol Matches and Finals, Women's 50-Meter Three Position Sport Rifle Match and Finals, Men's 50-Meter Three Position Free Rifle Match and Finals.
Nov. 5: Men's and Women's 10-Meter Air Rifle Matches and Finals, Men's and Women's 10-Meter Air Pistol Matches and Finals.
Nov. 6: Departure of delegations.
