The 23rd season of "The Oprah Winfrey Show" went for the gold when it launched Sept. 8 as more than 175 Olympic medalists gathered together for an unforgettable hour. Five out of the six medalists from the 2008 U.S. Olympic Team for Shooting participated in the show.
Shooters from the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games took the stage at Pritzker Pavilion in Chicago's Millennium Park for a "Welcome Home Team USA"
celebration for the record books. A crowd of thousands showed Chicago's Olympic spirit as it bid for the 2016 Olympic Games.
Olympians Michael Phelps, Nastia Luikin, Shawn Johnson, Dara Torres, Kobe Bryant, Dwyane Wade, Lisa Leslie, Misty May-Treanor, Kerri Walsh, Jennie Finch participated.
The Shooting Olympic medalists who participated in "The Oprah Winfrey Show" season premiere were USAMU's Spc. Glenn Eller, Men's Double Trap Gold Medalist, and SPC Vincent Hancock, Men's Skeet Gold Medalist, as well as Kim Rhode (El Monte, Calif.) Women's Skeet Silver Medalist, Corey Cogdell (Eagle River, Alaska) Women's Trap Bronze Medalist and Jason Turner (Rochester, N.Y.) Men's Air Pistol Bronze Medalist.
