Support at least at the OTC is not all that you may think it is cracked up to be if you could see the numbers.

I hate taking that line away from context, but I am sure it is accurate. I am very curious though, when comparing the comment on shooting by Matt that included "make a living out of it". I am not commenting on that one way or the other. I am just curious how that would be done, especially when compared to the article on the nbc olympic website about a shotgunner receiving community support from her home town.

A very interesting article. I thank NBC for the internet coverage. And for sure I congratulate the athletes, all of them.

I am a non competing member of USAS. If there were some AP or FP matches around here I would do them.

I can't speak for rifle or shotgun, but in pistol getting private funding is tough. Look at the US manufacturers few of them make anything for international pistol. Some like Kimber and Ruger have signed on with USAS out of "US pride" let's say. But most shooters are on their own for support. Even OTC athlete have to get their own guns, A Perazzi is over 10K an Anschutz rifle with all the add ons is 4K and on and on. I have had sponsors who were willing to send $ for using this or that and $ for winning with it but those sponsors are few. The shotgunner you mentioned is typical is some reguard , we all seem to be scratching the sand for the proverbial seed.
