Folks, due to the publicity of the Beijing Games, I have noticed a flurry of new posters inquiring about our sport. I am sure there are many, many more lurkers (I lurked for a very long time). What do we want the rest of the world to think about us? Sure we have gotten several trolls, but ignore them and they will tire of it and go away. Required registration may help. A mountian has many paths to the summit, it is each persons personal journey, some have the help of others and some only have this forum. Thank you contributors for the posts, that is all I had for a long time. I have been guilty of ankle nibbling on a couple of occasions, however I will not again. I would like to set the example that I have seen the athletes of all sports set the last couple of weeks, it has been awe inspiring, win or lose. I would like to set that example to the kids I coach. Thank you again, contributors, I have learned a great deal from all of you, and will be seeing many of you at the ranges here and there, both on the line and w/ the team.

Amen, or Dittos, or "What he said!"

I apologize for failing to "stay above the fray" for my own part.

I've been thinking a lot about why I post to TT and what I have been/am trying to accomplish in this venue.

I do regret that sometimes emotion gets the better of me (yeah, some of the trolls have found those "buttons") but as Momma once said "It Takes Two To Tangle."

Dear Steve, as a mostly reading lurker, I have rarely ever observed you posting "emotionally" (not to imply that emotion in and by itself would be anything bad) - except for one or maybe another odd off-topic political statement that shows you clearly right-wing of Attila the Hun, Tamburlaine the Great and Adolf the GröFaZ (that is, in the view of everybody within the orbis conclusus of the Civilized World, outside the Nation of Gilead). That is, however, your privilege as a prolific and extremely helpful and sharing poster, and nobody needs to yield to the easy temptation to answer to these.

As to the frequent trolls or ankle-biting attacks, I have found your responses to these very dignified, sober, and factual, quite admirably so.
