Smallbore Rifle Pricing

So recently I've started throwing around the idea of doing some smallbore shooting and the thought is getting a bit more serious.

However, I'm having a hard time finding price range figures for used rifles, especially the older series. I'm pretty much looking at a 1413-1913 Anschutz. Where along the series depends on relative pricing and availability. But I'm not adverse to spending a bit more if it means a substantial difference in age. Also, while the wood laminate stocks tend to be cheaper, I've been a bit tempted by the alu. stock.

If you could provide a general rough range for each series as pricing stands today, I'd be much appreciative.

get on the champions choice or neil johnson website and look at prices.

with the euro going nuts over the last 2 years prices have jumped a huge amount but.....

pick out what you want, buy the very best if that's what you want, I hate to suggest this but sell some other guns (I sold 2 garands, a mauser and a kalashnikov to get my anschutz)

If i were doing it over today, I'd get a 2013 series anschutz in a G&E stock or the anschutz ALU stock if I couldn't find or afford the G&E, I'd get the best sights, but I would not get all the shades and colors in the rear cuz I never use those.

on the flip side of the equation, an $800 1970's round action that still has a decent barrel and a wood stock and find good ammo for it (you'll have to test ammo (or barrels) no matter what you get) likely will shoot as well in your hands as the top of the line gun.... but if the $4000 thing pleases you and gives you confidence its worth it.

shoot good!

I don't think I'll be looking at "the best" latest and greatest. I honestly don't plan to shoot more than state level stuff. Though the G&E RS with 2013 does look incredible. The problem is finding used pricing as the prices seem to vary quite a bit due to age and places like Neil Johnson and Champions Choice are listing new guns mostly. I'm looking to spend probably $2000 max., so new 1913s are out of the question. I'm currently looking at a 1413 for about a grand, but I can't really find a general pricing guide for 1413's and earlier 1913's. If I can get an older 1913, esp. alu, for 1500-2000, I'd be tempted to swing that way instead. Considering 1913's are going about 3000 brand new, is that even doable or overly optimistic pricing? It seems so far that 1000 for the 1413 is about average?

And I don't have any other guns to sell. Haha. I have an air rifle, but it's got memories from matches that can't be valued.
