Is there was a way to tape the coverage and watch it later, like internet DVR. Anyone have any suggestions?

I think everyone should sign up for all the events so that NBC sees interest in the shooting sports

I don't know of any automated versions, but you can record live/streaming with a host of different applications (use google to find one you like). I'm going to look into this for myself and my local club (so we can show our jr shooters).

Do you have any suggestions of applications that you would suggest. I still can't figure out which is best to use. Most of them have a trial period and then you have to buy it.

I also signed up for Email and Mobile phone alerts from the website as suggested.

I thought some video cards were already set up to capture streaming video. Does anyone know which ones will do so?

Looks like NBC is pushing Silverlight for viewing downloaded streaming files. Can those files be saved?

Silverlight is just a repackaged Windows Media stream, and yes you can. I tested last night on their live gymnastics practice session with WM Recorder. That's just what I happen to have loaded as it's worked well for me in the past and it still worked well (though it was creating duplicates, easy enough to stop one and let the other go). It will also work through a proxy, so that means non-US viewers can record the video too.

To answer your other question, there are video cards that can record physical inputs (TV tuner cards, Video capture cards), but they just grab signal that comes into the card from an outside source. I've never heard of one that can capture internet streaming.

I've been thinking on this though, I bet NBC will be archiving this digital footage for later viewing (since China is the other side of the world). I don't care if it's live or pre-recorded myself. They list that it will only be available for 17 days, but most of it will likely be "On Demand" once the event has finished. Plenty of opportunity to view the footage for most people.
