Eley ammo bad for barrels

Any truth to the following viewpoint that I found on another forum?

It said that 7 years ago, Eley has changed it's priming formula and when each round was fired, this produced some by product that went through barrels and increased the wear that each projectile caused. This was supposed to mean that guns shot exclusively with Eley ammo had barrels that would wear out twice as fast.

Any truth to this?

I ask because I do a lot of shooting with Eley Club Extra and for me, its the best bang for the buck, cost-accuracy-reliability wise.

That story makes the rounds periodically. The origin is unclear, and the story is not true.
