I'm surprised to see a fairly lengthy article about Avianna Chao in todays (Sunday) Toronto Star, being a liberal and rather anti-gun news papper. For those who don't know Avianna, she 's on the Canadian National pistol team and will be in Beijing this summer for the Olympic game.

The article didn't had a lot about pistol shooting but more about Avianna's mother and her experiences when she come to Canada from China while she's 11 yrs old. Still its good day for shooting sport to see this kind of write up, check it out.

Wow good article and video.

They do know that in pistol shooting a gun is used?

A little back ground The Toronto Star is a very liberal rag that is always jumping on the "Ban all Handguns" bandwagon, which is Toronto's mayor, David Millar's answer to fight crime, everytime some thug drug dealersshoots on of his business rivals.

Another "Avianna" video from GlobalTV

We had another interview on GlobalTV about the same time. This was done while both of us were down with the flu/cold. It can be found at:

And yes, while a shotgun wedding may be in order, we prefer pistol.

Congratulations to Avianna. We met her when she was in the Team here in Melbourne for the Comm. Games. The Star article was Excellent.

Please pass on our best wishes to her.

And also to both of you on your engagement.

Tell her not to be too disheatened if she did not do as well as she hoped in the last competition. I am the guy who told her the first 10 years are the hardest in shooting!
She is doing a very good "apprenticeship". There have been quite a few changes in the last few years in Canadian shooting, I think, -- pulling ranges down etc.

When you have the wedding - come back to Oz for your honeymoon.
We have 2 of the top ladies as members in our Club, who she would know from her travels.

Good luck in Milan, and Beijing.
