I found some interesting reading on the USA Shooting web site about the history of women shooters and I thought some of you may want to read it, too. {Sorry if you all know about it already.}

Fascinating to think that it was as late as 1984-1992 that we had men and women shooting shoulder-shoulder in "open" events.

Nowadays of course we have twice as many medal opportunities between the two sets of "segregated" events, but still . . .

I have heard thrid or fourth hand that the tie breaker between Margret Murdock and Lannie Basham was decided by a coin toss as the tie was unbreakably under the rules. I had the honor to shoot service rifle as shooting partner with Margret in 1971. And her competitive attitude leads me to doubt this story. Margret was a shooter, not a gambler. Pretty sure Lanny had 100 for his last ten shots kneeling, which was the tie-breaker.
