Hey everyone,
I am booking a flight to Bangkok Thailand for a competition this summer (2007 universiade) and most of the airline carriers take me through either Tokyo or Hong Kong.
Which leads me to my question - how have the shooters who have travel through these countries would them to be in handing travelers with guns? Is there special paper work?
Thanks
Brian

If you are merely a transit passenger, then you will be fine. You won't even be going through Customs at the transfer airport(s). Just make sure you check your luggage all the way through to your final destination and make the proper declarations.

Be certain to have ALL the paperwork you need in hand. Then make copies, and put a complete set in each gun case.

Definitely make sure you have the license (at least a copy) with you from the Thailand organizing committee. From personal experience, your airline may require that you show the license for the final destination (Bangkok) before they will accept the firearm. You should keep after the organizers until you have it.

I have traveled with firearms before, but have found it quite challenging to get information out of Asia.
Anyone have any experience with Taiwan.
I have a Thailand gun permit.
