How long can pellets be stored if left in the original tins?

If they look clean and have a shine - then they are OK.

I have opened tins that were several years old, but still sealed and they were just fine.
I have also seen pellets that looked hard and dirty (oxidized) sitting around in open containers. I suppose you could clean and lube these old pellets - but I won't fire them in my guns.
I cringe when I see a shooter drop a pellet, then kneel down to pick it up, and then proceed to shoot it. And how muany dollars did you pay for that gun? And how much was that pellet worth?
Pellets are cheap and guns are expensive - need I say more?

As long as they are sealed i.e. taped up then a number of years. They are shipped like by the manufacturers and I've never seen them oxidised 'new'.
