The lid of a tin box. Once, there was turkish delight inside.
Above the target is the bottom part, pierced with flyers.

I am blessed with an indoor range so close that my wife nixes any attempt I make to shoot at home....

So targets and practice....

When I run out of Krugers, Ill go back to sticking single bull Americans on to cheap walmart file folder stock. A can of 3m77 spray glue does literally hundreds and the end result cuts perfect circles.

I dont score my practice targets per se. My goals have moved up over the years. It started out trying to put everything in the black. Then all 8s or better. Now I practice NOT shooting 8s.....

Order the 5 -bull strips. 1000 of them gives you 5000 centers for ~ 48 Euros, excluding VAT. That works out to less than 1 penny per bullseye, and it's good paper.

Anyone thought of simply shooting less than 5 shots on a target?
I started at 10 shots on a target, then went down to 5.
On "exceptionally" GOOD days, it was hard to score the 5 shots, so I simply went down to 3 shots on a target.
I never got good enough to have to go down to 2 shots on a target.

Yeah, this gets tiresome if you have to walk to the target to change targets, cuz you have to make that walk more often.
But if you rig a pulley, even a simple hand crank one, the target changing is less of an issue.
Although my doc said I need to walk more, so walking to the target would be better, for me.

if you use quality targets you can score 5 shots easily. they dont tear and the holes are very clean. you can even patch them and use them for a second time.
we use 5 or 3 for club matches (3rd division?) and one shot per target for nationals and 1st division matches.
for practice i shot 10 per target if i want to score it.

So probably erroring on safe side helps. I discover that day is too GOOD for 10 (or for 5) usually only after I cannot find a hole :)

Here I could not find 5th, so decided - WTH, I can continue with 10 - and got 1 more at the same area (I can find it, but not the original lost one)
Disclaimer: It was not just GOOD day for me, but also exceptional 10 minutes. I cannot do it on regular basis. But good days happen - last week I did standard slow 40, results - 87-97-87-88. The same problem :(

The art is not my cup of tea. My Sister-in-Law gave it to my wife years ago. A Chinese guest with no filter made some interesting comments about it.

The amplifier is a 1974 Pioneer SA-8100. Its only 40 watts, but the speakers put out 101 db with one watt of input.

This was more illustration of a good day then of a target that is impossible to decypher :)

I just do not have a good example of a completely "no idea" one - usually when it happens I just say "ok, I'll do scoring tomorrow, let put couple dozen pellets more through this target" :) [note: I am so good shoot that everything after goes all over places]

Since I do not have an electronic target, I use a spotting scope. So I can see when a target is getting difficult to score.
The hint of the problem to be is, if I create a largish hole from close shots or the unsupported target tears. Cuz I will likely put a shot into that hole and not be able to figure it out. So, when that happens, I replace the target, while I can still score it.

Using a spotting scope is simply what I got used to from shooting 22RF at 50 yards. I scoped each shot.

Brent375's target provides far more useful information than a mere score, which doesn't mean anything in practice.

For example: he has a VERY nice group going...does he need a zero change?

What caused the "8"? How to fix that?

The "9"s on the right look a little off, but the entire group in the "9" ring could just be a normal random variation. ???
