As a noob to AP I agree that dry fire is very helpful. Especially with stabilizing sight alignment and trigger. Many evenings are spent in front of computer monitor, and the back lighting makes it easy to see the sights and practice. Usually against white background, and sometimes using dots for area aim: http://accurateshooter.net/Blog/dots001.pdf
Also motivating to put various p0liticians in the area, especially those in the US and A of late ;)
