One of the guys in my club shoots one.
You might make him an offer he can't refuse.

They come up on egun from time to time. Not very expensive, due to the shortage of spares. Got two of them, just for fun.

Thank you. So indeed Vladimir Stolypin was the only Soviet athlete who won with the Toz-35 (62 and 66 WCH) prior to Sergei Pyzhianov (WCH86, WCF88), who happened to be the last Soviet shooter to win any major gold medals. So my research is correct.

I've got a book/catalogue (is a sales catalogue, but looks like a book) of Raznoexpoert, which as far as I can see is from 1965, and the only variant of the 55 mentioned is the MTs 55-1.
Btw, anybody know what the difference between the 55-1 and the 55-1M is?

Looks like an incredibly thick piece of wood between trigger finger and middle finger.

It certainly is thick, but it's not uncomfortable at all. I agree that when I saw it for the first time, before actually gripping the pistol, it caught my attention.

The MTs55 is a great gun if you like a raked grip and/or have short fingers. The center of gravity is rather back in the hand but the pistol itself is rather heavy (about 1200-1300 grams i believe). I have a Rink grip on mine and I think it is great!
I have also wondered about the differences 55-1 vs. 55-1M but I have not been able to find any information about it.
