Junior Olympics

Post by july2130 »

My son wants to shoot in the junior olympics and we are wondering if there is a rule on the overall length of the .22 small bore rifle.

Your best bet is to go to the USA Shooting website and look up the rules for yourself. The question you ask about the overall length of the rifle may be just the beginning of the things you need to know prior to equipment check at the JO's.

You should print off the rules and keep them with you. You should check all of his equipment and clothing to make sure he complies with the rules prior to traveling to the event.

The answer to your question is found in Rule 7.4.3.7 and 7.4.4.2. There is not a specific number for overall length, but rather a length of bbl and dimension of butt plate that need to be considered.

Hope your jr enjoys the experience and gets an invitation to the big show in Colorado Springs.

All the best
