2008-09 NRA Approved Indoor Air Pistol and Air Rifle Matches

Dates: Saturday, October 25, November 22, December 27, January 24, and March 28

Time: Registration at approximately 8:30 a.m. Firing begins at 9 a.m.

Location: SIRPC Indoor Range, Indian Creek Shooting Center, 5950 Gun Club Road, Georgetown, Indiana 47122.

Rules: All current NRA rules will apply. Current NRA classifications will be used or temporary scorebooks. All others will fire in the master class. Classification cards will be checked.

Air Pistol and Air Rifle: Unlimited sighters. Air Rifle and Air Pistol will be fired concurrently. Targets will be changed after each twenty shots taken. Pistol shooters will have a maximum of 30 minutes for the twenty shots and rifle shooters will have 40 minutes. All targets will be scored by competitors upon completion of firing. Only .177 caliber air guns can be used.

Facilities: As there are only ten firing points in the range, pre-registration is necessary to insure a firing spot. Shooting will be limited to 2 relays only. When registering, please indicate your relay preference. There is a clubhouse located on the property with restrooms, hamburgers, hotdogs, drinks, etc. available. There is a Motel 6 and restaurants located in Georgetown at Exit 19 of I-64.

Entry Fees: Adults, $10.00 per match. Juniors $5.00. Adult package fee for air pistol and air rifle is $15.00.

Directions & Parking: I-64 to exit 19.West on Indiana 64 through the town of
Georgetown. Observe the 30 mph speed limit. After approximately 5.8 miles from the
exit and about 1 mile west of Georgetown, turn right onto Gun Club Road and go about
½ mile to the entrance to the Indian Creek on your left. Go past the house on your right
and the mobile home. The SIRPC Indoor Range is on your right. Park parallel to the
building. LEAVE AT LEAST ONE CAR WIDTH BETWEEN YOUR VEHICLE AND
THE BUILDING’S YARD.

Awards: Awards will consist of ribbons. Blue for winner and first place. Red for second
place and white for third place. Competitors are encouraged to write the date of the
match and their score on the back of the ribbon to personalize it.

Must I be a club member to participate in these matches?

No, you don't have to be a club member to participate. AFAIK, you don't even have to be an NRA member, now.

Georgetown, IN is only about 120 miles from where I live, and I would love to participate in these matches. Hope to see you in October.

You might want to check with some of the folks at the Cincy Revolver Club, Jack Basham comes to mind. Some of them have shot here before, and with the price of gas and all, maybe you could line up a car pool.

Reservations for the Air Gun Matches are starting to come in. We will probably have a full house. If you want to insure that you will be able to shoot, you must make a reservation beforehand. There will only be two relays of ten shooters each relay.

The next air gun match at the Southern Indiana R&P Club is on Saturday, December 27th. The first relay has one point remaining, as of today, Dec. 20th. The second relay has 9 points available. If you want to shoot, get your reservation in soon. See you there!!

The next air gun matches for the Southern Indiana Rifle and Pistol Club in Georgetown, Indiana are next Saturday, January 24, 2009. Get your reservations in soon! I don't think you can shoot any cheaper anywhere else!
