6 Soldiers invited to elite World Cup Finals

FORT BENNING, Ga. - Six Soldiers of the U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit will travel to Europe next week to compete in the prestigious International Sports Shooting Federation World Cup Final.
Sgts. 1st Class Theresa E. DeWitt, Joetta R. Dement and Mark L. Weeks and Spcs. Walton Glenn Eller III, Jeffrey G. Holguin and Vincent C.
Hancock will compete at the elite World Cup Finals Sept. 24 to 31 in Minsk, Belarus.
The ISSF only invites the top shooters in the world to compete in this exclusive match, which is the traditional closing competition of the international shooting season.
Eller, Hancock and Holguin are all 2008 Olympians. A the Beijing Olympics, Eller won the Gold Medal in Double Trap and Hancock took the Gold in Skeet. Holguin barely missed the Bronze Medal in Double Trap and finished fourth. DeWitt, a 1996 Olympian, won the Silver Medal and an Olympic Quota Slot at the World Cup USA in 2006.
Dement, a two-time Olympic alternate, was the 2007 Women's Trap National Champion and 2008 Silver Medalist. Weeks was the Skeet 2008 Olympic alternate and will become the U.S. Shotgun Team Coach when he leaves the Army Oct. 11.
