Marlin 2000 - .22 rifle question

We've been doing some research on this rifle model to use in 4H 3-position competitions and have heard of some conerns about the triggers. As they are modeled to be a biathlete's rifle (and thus a heavier trigger pull) I'm wondering if anyone has had much success in doing a trigger job on them to lighten them up?

Most biathletes run a trigger at the legal minimum which is 500 grams if this helps.

We replaced our with the "Rifle Basixs" set and are very happy.

what is the cost of the marlin 2000 ? is this for a club rifle? or for yourself? i'd save up some more money and just get a Anschutz , JMO

The last one I saw on Gunbroker was running about $685 or so

They are kinda hard to find, so in the time you are waiting, keep stashing cash.

The main reason I use the Marlin is for my beginning to intermediate left handed shooters. For the righties in this experience group, I've been happy with the Izhmash CM-2's, but it is a RH stock only.
