Not being a shotguntype, I have a question.
In the finals, a "no bird" was called, but it appeared to me that the gal shot and HIT 2 birds.
Man was it raining.
The team gunsmiths must be doing daily teardown and dry/oiling the shotguns.

Re: Skeet question
We must presume that the Referee was not happy with the way the targets were released. The call was made before the shots were fired.GaryN wrote:Not being a shotguntype, I have a question.

David & Gary ... the shot I saw on the video replay (Womens Skeet Final), the official made the call after the shots were fired. Even though she hit the two, since he called a no-bird she had to fire again.
This is outlined in the rules (9.17.13.5)
Sometimes you just don't hear a no-bird call ... in this instance, since none was called (until after she shot), she made the safe choice and fired at both. I could not see on the video, but the most likely cause was fragments of the first target breaking the second

.... a whole list after this......A “NO BIRD” (or “NO BIRDS”) must be declared EVEN IF THE SHOOTER HAS FIRED when:

I thought it was before, but you are no doubt correct.jhmartin wrote:David & Gary ... the shot I saw on the video replay (Womens Skeet Final), the official made the call after the shots were fired.
When you have watched as little clay-busting as me, whether live or on TV, it all seems to happen at the same time anyway.
