How to delete a thread/post?

How to delete a thread/post?
Am I missing something, or is it just not possible? (Need to ask moderator?)

My observation is one can delete a post that has not been responded.
There is an "X" in the upper right corner next to "edit". If you scroll over the "x" it will say "delete this post" or something similar.
Now you can't delete your question in this post because I responded.

PS: I think one also has to be registered and signed in, which it looks like you are.
