The title says it all...what is the best choice?

I prefer the Colt Officer's Model Match .38. Better balance than the Python, better trigger. And a lot cheaper in the used market than a Python.

I remember a one time single best target ever like it was my golf hole in one. It was a 50yd slowfire with a Colt 38 OMM. In nearly 38 years of pistol shooting, that one stands out. It was a 97-8X. The 8 Xs were consecutive shots 1-8, all inside the X ring. Then I scoped.....

Another nice Officers Model variant is the Special. These have an untapered heavy barrel. They were only produced for a few years in the late 40's - early 50's. ( http://www.sportingcollectibles.com/cph ... odspcl.jpg )

The Match, Target, and Special OMs in 38spl don't seem to command the premium that other Colt revolver's do. The 22's have gotten very pricey.

I think that the Python is a good revolver for DR, but the prices have become exhorbitant.
