New Barrel

Morning All,
I'm about to have a new (Anschütz) barrel fitted to my 2013 Supermatch. The Gunsmith is also the main dealer for Eley amunition here, is it a good idea to get some amunition tested with a brand new barrel. Or should i wait untill the barrel has had a couple of hundred rounds through it before i consider spending a lot of money. I'm going to buy a case of somthing good for competion, Tenex or Midas if neccessary.
