2006-2007 Air Pistol and Air Rifle Matches

Dates: (Saturday) Oct. 28, Nov. 25, Dec. 23, Jan. 27, Feb. 24, and Mar 24.

Time: 9:00 a.m. Eastern (Daylight Savings Time Observed). Second relay at 11:00 if necessary.

Rules: Current NRA International Rifle and Pistol Rules and this program will govern. Air Rifle will be fired concurrently with Air Pistol. Thirty minutes to fire each series of twenty shots at which time targets will be replaced.

Course of Fire: 60 record shots plus sighters.

Scoring: Upon completion of the match the targets will be scored by the competitors at the direction of the statistical officer. A fee of $2.00 will be charged for each challenge made; refundable if sustained.

Directions: From I-64 take Georgetown Exit (118) onto State Road 64. Take a right turn, west towards Georgetown. Go approximately 6.1 miles (through Georgetown). Gun Club Road will be on your right while going down a big hill. Take a right on Gun Club Road. Go about ¼ mile and the Indian Creek Shooting Center will be on your left. Turn into the drive. Go past the white house and trailer. The indoor range will be on your right. Park parallel to the front of the indoor range and leave at least one car width from the building vacant for anyone leaving the parking lot.

There were many very good scores posted and many folks shot way above their previous scores.Steve Smith, who is known for his tenacity,recently underwent shoulder surgery. He didn’t let that stop him. He whittled some left- hand grips out of 2X4’s for his IZH-46M. With his right arm still in a sling, Steve shot the match left-handed. You just can’t keep a good man down!

The last air gun match of the season will be next Saturday, March 24, 2007, contrary to what you may have seen elsewhere. I've been told that there is one spot left open on the first relay, so if someone wants it, you can call the match director, Bill Snyder at (812) 945-8505.

I only have the results of the Air Pistol portion of the Sectional Match fired February 24, 2007. There were 15 competitors in Air Pistol.

Thanks to everyone who supported our air gun matches this season. This was the last match of the season. We plan on starting air gun matches again in October, 2007. If there is enough interest, we may have free pistol matches after the air gun matches. Let us know if you’d like to shoot free pistol. Basically you can use any .22 cal. pistol and it is a 60 shot slow fire match, like air pistol, but fired at 50 ft. indoors and on itty bitty targets.
